A personal performance of Every Brain Needs Music

$1,232.00 Value

Author, Professor of Neuroscience, and Musician Dr. Larry Sherman has given his multi-media presentation on the neuroscience of music, including live music, to audiences in venues throughout the U.S. and in five other countries. This popular presentation dives into all the ways that we engage with music – learning to play an instrument, composing, improvising, performing, and listening – and how each activity changes the brain. The presentation also examines the origins of music, and, through neuroscience research and the experiences of professional musicians, explores the best ways to learn and teach music. Dr. Sherman will come to your school, business, home or other venue at a date to be arranged. For a large audience or an intimate, salon-style gathering, this experience is sure to be a delight for your guests.

In addition to the talk, you will also get a copy of the book Every Brain Needs Music: The Neuroscience of Making and Listening to Music (Columbia University Press) written by Dr. Sherman and Dr. Dennis Plies, a lifelong musician and music teacher. Dr. Sherman and Dr Plies will make personal inscriptions and sign the book at the conclusion of the Season Celebration.
