Ken Peplowski, hailed as the greatest living jazz clarinetist, performs selections by Aaron Copland, Eddie Sauter, and Stan Getz. The program will start with Copland’s most famous Appalachian Spring Suite, inspired by the Shaker Tune “Simple Gifts”. Then, Ken will be the soloist in Copland’s Clarinet Concerto backed by the PCO orchestra. After the intermission, the PCO will accompany Ken in the collaborative jazz number “Focus” orchestrated by Eddie Sauter with improvisations by Stan Getz.
